Broadcasting

The AWL is looking for media relations and broadcasting interns to assit with media duties and gameday broadcasts this season! For 2012, the AWL will have a much larger presence online and in the national media. Our focus is to spotlight the extremely talented players that play in the AWL each season so increase the chances of getting them signed for the 2012 baseball season. Media relation and broadcast interns will help produce AWL broadcasts and promote the league and players.

In addition, we're also looking for the voice of the AWL! Anyone looking to get into sports journalism or announcing should not miss this opportunity to do play-by-play live on the air for our internet and radio broadcasts. Calling games at Desert Sun Stadium for an entire month during the AWL season is a huge boost to any broadcasting resume!

Job Description:

Gain experience as the voice of the AWL! Interns will call live game action during the AWL’s internet and radio broadcasts while assisting in all aspects of the production of the broadcast. The responsibilities of the interns include but are NOT limited to the following and are subject to change based on company needs: 

·         Call live game action, on air

·         Assist with production of AWL broadcasts

·         Interact with members of the media

·         Write official AWL press releases

·         Assist in general media operations

·         Other duties as assigned by the Office Manager

 

Job Requirements:

·         Current student (undergraduate or graduate)

·         Excellent communication skills, particularly verbal communication skills

·         Outgoing and self-motivating personality

·         Reliable and the ability to follow instructions

·         General knowledge of broadcast equipment and production

Rate of Pay:

College credit available
